I am willing to admit that I may have been wrong about this record. I revisited You Are The Quarry recently and was pleasantly surprised to realize I still enjoyed it, so out of curiosity I decided to give this one a fresh chance and I don't know if it's just the late night or my mood or what, but I'm enjoying it much more than I did when it came out. At the time I found it quite boring, but now I think it's seriously beautiful in certain parts. The string portions and Moz's voice in particular, but even the rockers are pretty interesting! No doubt due to the production. I'll have to revisit Years of Refusal soon, but I'm doubtful I'll find anything there that I missed on the first go round. We'll see.

I like her and I don't even want to.
I don't use this thing anymore! WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
It's been great, but it's time to leave the world of livejournal behind. I'm deactivating the majority of my online crap, from now on the easiest places to reach me will be on either
the deathrock board (sometimes, if I'm really bored/feeling masochistic)
the Party Beach myspace (www.myspace.com/partybeachwinter if you've forgotten!)
or my new blogspot, www.partybeachwinter.blogspot.com, which will be mainly about music and other rad stuff that's rad. Maybe a personal how-do-ya-do every once in a while!
So if yr on blogspot, follow me. I believe you can comment on blogspot posts with livejournal, so if you wanna say hey, go ahead!

I think I need some internet downtime or something. I've been increasingly bored with just about every facet of the internet that doesn't involve reading a record review or downloading an mp3 of some obscure band. I dunno, maybe I'm just bored of life in general right now. I need some new friends...the old ones haven't really been cutting it lately. Maybe I just miss going out...been too broke for that kinda thing.
I think I'll take a break from the computer before school starts and I have to be even more glued to it than I am now. Especially considering two online classes. I really hope there's some cool peeps in my on campus class...I'm craving some freshness.
Oh if you want a really really REALLY noisy Party Beach song go to the myspace and look on the blog, it's a rough cut with warts and all but it's pretty feedback-y and surf-ridden. It's fun.

Hello hello. I don't seem to update much anymore....dunno why that is, but would guess it has to do with the weirdness of living with my girlfriend. (Weird because it's only July technically and this is the 2nd girlfriend I've lived with this year....when I HATE living with people. Oh life.) She theoretically won't be around long though, only til she gets her own place, which would be good...I'm just not ready to be long-term living with a girl so soon. It busted things up pretty fast last time when we lived together too soon and I don't want it to happen again.
It's hard to find time to record/play as much guitar as I want to/work out new song arrangements with her around all the time, but if that's my biggest complaint, then I'm not doing too bad.
Also lyric writing is hard.
Let's see, what else is going on...
oh yeah, I'm starting school back next month. I'm nervous about it since I've been out of class for over two years now...but it shouldn't be too bad. It'll be nice to get out and maybe meet some new people again. It'd be cool to make some new friends!

Who the hell has been playing my weirdo song fragments 50-something times
First indication of new more surf-y direction is here....www.myspace.com/partybeachwinter

So I've been keeping busy lately. Between registering for school, attempting to finish up interviews, helping Jenny move to Atlanta (she just got a job, I'm very proud and somewhat jealous, but she has a licensed skill unlike me), and looking for work I've been swamped.
I have it on good word that Urban Outfitters is hiring. I applied but haven't gotten a call back. Hope something comes of it, I'm really stressing money right now and it'd be nice to get a discount there, my wardrobe is badly in need of an update.
Also got an offer from the band Entertainment to be their new guitar player/synth junkie. I'm tempted to say yes but just don't know if I have the time...plus I'm really trying to get my own thing going. I'm thinking about it though.
Hey Dan if you read this where do you get your glasses? I can't seem to find a decent pair of frames anywhere.
Also this is a good pic of me. You can see the city in my lenses.
New Cold Cave and Prurient records leaked! And Jen got us tix for GrizzlyBear/Beach House in October, neat! I don't care about the Griz THAT much but I'm psyched to see Beach House. I need to get Bat For Lashes tix soon...
Recommend me some shit if ya know any. Preferrably nothing gangsta cuz I know all that shit. I need some old skool type jams.
I made it to Sonic Youth after all thanks to my girl. I saw Sandy in the lobby but she didn't notice/recognize me I guess and for some reason I was blanking on her name so I couldn't go up to her, haha. It was a great show!(DEATH VALLEY 69!!!!)
this 'goth vs. indie' thing on that damn board is just so stupid, I'm just done with it. I have to ween myself off of going to that place.
Totally excited about getting my hair cut tomorrow. My hair's been super huge Johnny Thunders for a while now, ready to try something else.
I NEED new glasses so badddd.

What the fuck album is this on???
Crocodiles are supporting The Horrors on their US tour this fall. That's a good lineup.
Just sent Wes my Cold Cave interview questions. One down! Toby and I are still in the middle of a long interview but it's nearly done. Next I got a Naked On The Vague interview to do and I need to do some reviews tomorrow.
